Family-home territory with a gated edge
Suburban streets, canal estates, and the interchange in the middle.
Helensvale is a settled northern suburb built around big family homes — the established streets off Sir John
Overall Drive and Discovery Drive, the townhouses near Westfield and the train interchange, and the gated canal
estates like Monterey Keys out on the water. It sits at the top of the light rail and the heavy-rail line, so it is
a popular landing spot for people moving up from the beaches or down from Brisbane.
The gated and security-boom estates are the part that catches other movers out. Monterey Keys, The Sanctuary and
the newer complexes need the move cleared with the body corporate or the gatehouse first, or the truck gets held at
the boom. We arrange that access ahead of time so the day runs to plan.
The canal homes come with waterfront extras — outdoor settings, jetty and pontoon gear, the odd kayak or tinnie
— and we bring the straps and padding to handle them. Everywhere else, the wide suburban driveways make the
carry short and the day quick.
